Meet our Doctors and Team

  • Dr. Adam Harcourt

    Dr. Adam Harcourt is a board-certified Functional Neurologist, owner of Imagine X Functional Neurology, Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board, 4th generation Doctor of Chiropractic, Neurology Professor for Carrick Institute, Board President of Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center, he performs and puts out research on migraine and concussion, and is also certified in Functional Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation (FNOR).

    He was born and raised in central Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, where he also completed a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. After exploring several different types of healthcare, he kept coming back to the 'treat the problem not the symptom' outlook. Dr. Harcourt completed his graduate work at Life Chiropractic College West, where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He graduated Cum Laude, with honors, and received the highly-coveted Clinical Excellence Award for his graduating class. He then pursued a 3-year post-doctorate degree in Functional Neurology through the Carrick Institute, earning him his Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology (DACNB).

 


  • Dr. Ben Terrano

    Board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic and is currently pursuing board certification as a Diplomate in Functional Neurology (DACNB) and Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP)

    Originally from Northern California, he attended California State University, where he earned a degree in Psychology, Kinesiology and Movement Studies. He was an active participant in the kinematics and cadaver labs, performing research studies and cadaveric dissections to better understand the intricacies of the human body. He showed special interest in how the body moves and functions correctly.

 


  • Dr. Stephanie Barbakoff

    Board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic and is currently pursuing board certification as a Diplomate in Functional Neurology

    Originally from the east coast, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating cum laude, from State University of New York. With a strong interest in health science, she began exploring different avenues to work with patients in a healthcare setting. She worked in offices of osteopathy, obstetrics, and chiropractic before deciding on holistic health care. She attended Life Chiropractic College West where she earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude with honors. She has completed over 400 hours of post-doctorate training through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies.

 


  • Dr. Daniel Perman

    He attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience, graduating cum laude with honors. He was also a research assistant in the Neurobiology Department of Harvard Medical School. His intense interest in Neuroscience led him to pursue his Doctorate of Chiropractic and ultimately his Diplomate in Functional Neurology.

 


  • Jenny

    Executive Coordinator

    She is a local Santa Barbarian who received her B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design in 2012 from Westmont College. Jenny has a passion for the arts and people. She loves to volunteer in the community and is on the board for local non-profit, a group devoted to raising money for local veterans programs. Jenny enjoys being with family and friends, cooking, and hiking.

 


  • Rachel

    Director of Health Education and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach

    Born and raised in Southern California, she graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with Bachelors degrees in Communication and Psychology, as well as a minor in Education & Applied Psychology. She completed her INHC in the years following. With over seven years of experience in education and behavioral and integrative health, Rachel is passionate about helping others, spreading ideas and inspiring action regarding functional, holistic health.

 


  • Mallory

    Executive Director

    She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh as a Dental Hygienist, and practiced Dental Hygiene for 9 years. She enjoyed her work, but loved the business aspect of working in a private medical practice even more. This is what led her to become the full-time Executive Director for Imagine X. Mallory oversees all things Imagine X and is happy to help with any questions you may have.

 


  • Katie

    Therapeutic Assistant

    Katie grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley and received a degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Exercise Science and Therapeutic Rehabilitation from Cal State Sacramento. Most of her experience has been in a Physical Therapy setting, so she is very excited to expand her learning into Functional Neurology! For the past few years, she has worked as a Behavioral Therapist, helping both children and adults with Autism. She also does massage and bodywork, and plans to get her personal training certificate.
